OSF to Provide Free Mammograms in 2021

ORLANDO, Florida — The Orlando Sports Foundation is excited to announce that we have partnered with Dr. Phillips Charities and Advent Health to provide free mammograms to those in need in our community. Starting in 2021, the OSF will work to provide 100 free mammogram screenings with additional screenings in circumstances where additional views or screens are needed.

Early detection is a major factor for breast cancer survival. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Breast cancer can be present without any symptoms and women over the age of 40 are encouraged to schedule annual mammograms.

This isn’t the Orlando Sports Foundation’s first time providing free mammograms for our community. As a kickoff to the Cure Bowl, the OSF’s largest fundraising event of the year, the OSF has annually held a day of free breast cancer screenings for women in the Parramore neighborhood by sponsoring a mobile mammography bus.

This new program will launch in early 2021 with a focus on women living in the Parramore neighborhood. Be the first to receive updates about this exciting new program by signing up for our newsletter.
