Orlando Executive Named Cure Bow “Volunteer of the Year” at the Football Bowl Association’s Champions Dinner
April 19, 2017 (Orlando) Wright Waters and leaders from the Football Bowl Association (FBA) announced Jim Warmus, Partner-CPA, WithumSmith+Brown as the AutoNation Cure Bowl’s 2016 Volunteer of the Year during the Champions Dinner awards ceremony. The event took place in San Antonio, TX during the FBA annual meeting.
Warmus has served in a leadership role for the Orlando Sports Foundation for more than 4 years and is currently on the Board of Directors as Chief Financial Officer and Finance Committee Chair. “It’s been an honor having Jim on our team and we appreciate his level of dedication to our organization,” stated Executive Director, Alan Gooch. “Jim brings out the strengths in others – he has made a remarkable impact on our board, staff, volunteers and community leaders.”
The AutoNation Cure Bowl, is a post-season NCAA football game who has adhered to their promise to be more than just a great bowl game. While most NCAA bowl games make contributions to charity, few include the name of their cause in their title and few have raised community awareness -made a lasting impression. During the past two years, the Cure Bowl has raised $2.3 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the highest rated breast cancer organization in the United States and the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide.
Each year the game match-up will change, but the mission will remain the same. Teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) will take to the field on December 16th at the 3rd annual Cure Bowl at 2:30 pm, Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

The Orlando Sports Foundation, Inc. (OSF) was founded in May 2008 and is a 501(c)(3) organization whose goal is to bring teams together to find a cure for cancer. To date, the organization and its’ title sponsor has raised $2.3 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This donation is the highest amount given in the history of college football bowl’s from a single bowl to its cancer research foundation charity partner.
This year’s AutoNation Cure Bowl will be played December 16th at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium and televised nationwide on CBS Sports Network, 2:30 p.m. OSF also hosts its annual Strike Out Breast Cancer bowling event and the Cure Bowl Golf Classic. OSF is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Board.
